This approximately 90-minute tour combines city feeling with the many small green lungs in Erlangen and is suitable for both Families as well as for guests who do not have much time to make a longer hiking tour. The starting point of our tour is the Huguenot Square with the Huguenot Church. From here we head towards SchlossplatzOn the right hand side we can now see the Castle Garden with its orangery and also the Botanical Garden with its many plants, shrubs and trees. Across the Mediterranean-inspired Schiffstrasse We now walk across the Old Town Church Square, cross the New Street and stop at Steinbach Bräu for a delicious "Strochenbier." Via Wöhrstraße, we reach the intersection of Bayreuther Straße and Essenbacher Straße and then head towards the Bergkirchweih grounds. On the left, we can enjoy a delicious meal and a cool beer at the "Discharge cellar“ Stop. From here we continue to the next highlight: The Heinrich Kirchner sculpture garden17 large bronze sculptures by the Erlangen artist are on display there. After enjoying the view over the Huguenot town from here, we walk south along Pappellierweg to the (water) playground at the Bleiche. Schwabachanlage. Then we keep left and reach the Aroma gardenThe Aroma Garden offers an interesting collection of more than 100 mostly perennial, hardy fragrant plants, with their special, often fragrant ingredients, mostly essential oils. Palmsanlage We now walk further south over the Lorlebergplatz and turn right into Marquardsenstraße. On the left, we are already at the end of our tour – because in the middle of the city, here at Bohlenplatz, another small oasis of peace has been created: the Erlanger Bible GardenWith its panels, signs, and sculptures, it makes various themes from the Bible vivid and accessible, and the cafés and restaurants surrounding it invite you to linger and relax.
