The people of Erlangen are pleasure-loving wine drinkers who love regional products. The idea of breathing new life into Franconian wine and securing its place at the forefront of the popularity rankings originated during the studies of the owners, Prof. Dr. Christian Heinrich and Benedikt Sauer. The two have been present in Würzburg with their exquisite wines since 2016. Natalie Maikler has been managing the branch in the Huguenot city since 2019.
Wohlsein offers wine lovers a wine tour of selected Franconian wineries. Taste delights from hidden and creative winemakers in the region can be sampled and purchased in this wine shop. In addition to organic wines, the selection also includes wood-aged Silvaner and estate sparkling wines. Each wine has been personally selected by the Wohlsein team from the winemakers' portfolios and can be tasted and purchased during opening hours.
Each month, a winemaker comes to personally present their wine during a tasting. Additionally, a blind tasting and a themed wine tasting are offered monthly. Every first Thursday of the month, there's a crash course for all wine enthusiasts at the "Wine Beginner Level." The dates can be found in our event calendar.
