Since the 24/25 season, the municipal theatre in Erlangen has been named acting erlangenThe main venue is the MarkgrafentheaterIt was built over 300 years ago at the instigation of Margrave Georg Wilhelm of Brandenburg-Bayreuth and is therefore considered the oldest still-operating baroque theatre in southern GermanyIn 1744, the auditorium was redesigned in the Rococo style, as it can still be seen today thanks to extensive restoration. Just a few meters away from the Margrave Theatre is the second venue, the Theater in the Garage, which has existed since 1975 and seats approximately 60 spectators. Today, the Schauspiel Erlangen has a own, currently eleven-member ensemble, including one Puppeteer, a Sängerin and dancer.
