This traditional restaurant has been owned by the Clever family for over 100 years, now in its fourth generation. His grandfather, master butcher Andreas Backhof from Heroldsbach, acquired this establishment, with its history dating back to 1707, back in 1913. But that doesn't mean they don't think outside the box.
The extensive culinary offerings here aren't distinguished by awards and distinctions, but rather by the passion of the chefs and the entire team. Honest culinary craftsmanship, a love of first-class products, and the preparation of food with a clear conscience are the key principles of the "Schwarzer Bär" philosophy.
Thomas Clever, the chef, was born with a passion for fine dining. After several years of working in Michelin-starred restaurants in Germany, he spent more than ten years abroad, experiencing a variety of cuisines and culinary formats. He has been running the family business on Innere Bruck Straße for over 16 years.
The creative menus can be customized to suit your individual taste, and can then be enjoyed at family or Christmas celebrations or company anniversaries in a unique, rustic setting.
