The Fischerei Oberle restaurant is located in the Kosbach district of Erlangen, on the edge of the Aischgrund region, and combines gastronomy with its own fish farm. For generations, the family business has managed its fish ponds and serves predominantly fish from its own breeding program in a natural environment. For several years now, the offerings have been complemented by its own brewery, which rounds out the culinary concept.
Fischerei Oberle

How long have you been running your fish farm and the associated restaurant?
Our family has lived and worked on this farm since 1650 and has specialized in pond farming over the centuries.
Fish farming includes the marketing of fish - which have also been offered ready-made in the restaurant (former pigsty or chicken house of the farm) since February 2000.
A wonderful product here: produced here, grown here and enjoyed here!
Why did you decide to brew your own beer in addition to your fish farm and restaurant?
Firstly because our son Peter wanted it, and secondly because it fits perfectly: our own beer with our own fish.
What is special about your beers?
Craft-brewed in small batches using regional ingredients! Our beer is natural, unfiltered, and untreated—simply every sip is special and unique!
What is your personal connection to Erlangen?
A very heartfelt one!
I was born and went to school in Erlangen, but I spent the first three years of my life growing up in Upper Franconia. This is because Kosbach was part of Höchstadt, which itself was part of Upper Franconia, until 3. With a break for my studies/studio, I've always called Kosbach home.
