Upcycling, sustainability, and environmental protection were and continue to be the driving forces behind Lothar Wichert's company. How did it all begin? In 1993, the entrepreneur opened his first secondhand goods store in an old barn in Erlangen-Kriegenbrunn. The goods came from purchases, house clearances, or gifts from customers who couldn't bring themselves to throw away beautiful items with their own story and soul. This way, affordable old "treasures" found new owners and didn't have to be discarded unnecessarily.
The Erlangen Flea Market is now located on Schallershofer Straße and offers a retail space of more than 500 square meters. It's the only one of its kind in Erlangen, one of the largest in the region, and always worth a pleasant Saturday outing.
Anyone looking for one or more bargains can look forward to a year-round, covered, heated and dry flea market experience for young and old – at absolutely fair prices.
In addition, a family atmosphere is guaranteed, which is repeatedly confirmed by customers.
"We live in a throwaway society. I'm trying to take a step toward sustainability here and convey the joy of secondhand items to people with my diverse offerings!" the store's owner explains.
