DAV Boulderzentrum Erlangen

Bouldering? What exactly is it? In this discipline, climbers primarily climb at jumping height without harnesses or ropes on boulders outdoors in nature, on artificial climbing walls, or in urban terrain.
Tricky challenges, an interesting twelve meters of rope climbing on the outer tower, and an iconic outdoor area – all of this is offered here. There are numerous opportunities both indoors and outdoors to really burn off some energy on the wall. All DAV members – throughout Germany – can test, challenge, and develop their muscle strength here. Fairness and consideration are among the basic principles of sporting cooperation here. Climate-neutral travel by bike, bus, and train should also be a given.
The DAV Bouldering Center Erlangen is part of Erlangen's largest sports and nature conservation club, and thus the club's philosophy and mission statement underpin the operation of this spacious 240-square-meter climbing facility. Indoor bouldering is available on two levels. There's also an exciting eight-meter-high top-rope climbing area with three entry points. This is particularly suitable for beginners and climbers with a fear of heights.
The Erlangen Alpine Club has always enjoyed climbing due to its proximity to Franconian Switzerland. Therefore, a climbing training cellar was built about 40 years ago. Many successful climbers have trained there and now use the DAV Bouldering Center, where today's world-class climber Alex Megos also made his first moves as a child.

Over the four decades of its existence, this bouldering center has been expanded bit by bit, yet has lost none of its special, family-friendly atmosphere. People greet each other, chat, share ideas, and pitch in together.
