Erlangen is located directly on the Regnitz Cycle Path. Between the hills of Franconian Switzerland and the Steigerwald, the cycle path connects the cities of Bamberg, Forchheim, Erlangen, Fürth, and Nuremberg on two parallel routes. 85-kilometer valley route through villages and small towns with Franconian half-timbered facades, the barely shorter Canal Route (75 kilometers) continuously along the course of the Main-Danube Canal and the Regnitz.
Both routes, the valley route with its 85 km and the canal route with its 75 km, can be ridden independently of each other.
From the Regnitz cycle path to Erlangen The best way to get there is from the Alterlangen district, where you can easily reach Erlangen city center through Wiesengrund and the Wöhrmühlwiese. From here, it's best to take the "An den Seelöchern" road over the Wöhrmühlsteg bridge into the city center. (GPS data on komoot)
