The varied tour leads through picturesque Franconian villages and forests, along fruit trees and fields, past numerous farm shops and rewards with fantastic panoramic views of Franconian Switzerland.
The tour starts at the Tourist Information and leads along Universitätsstraße east to Lorlebergplatz. There, take the third exit at the roundabout and follow the road north. Now, it passes the Aroma garden the Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nuremberg, over the Bürgermeistersteg and finally slightly uphill through the Meilwald. Once at the top you will be greeted with a wonderful view to Franconian Switzerland. A detour to the Atzelsberger Beer Garden, which offers a wide selection of Franconian food and drinks. The tour continues past the Marloffstein clay pit to Marloffsteiner water tower. It is worth taking a short break to see the panoramic view into Franconian Switzerland. The route now descends past fruit trees and fields via Rosenbach to Ebersbach. A little hint: along the route there are numerous Franconian farm shops, which offer fresh and regional products. The tour now leads via Hetzles to Neunkirchen am Brand and on to Kleinsendelbach. Afterwards, you follow a cycle path through forests and meadows until you finally turn into the forest. The wide gravel path leads past the Indian Canyon in Uttenreuth back to Erlangen. The Indianerschlucht (Indian Gorge) is a gorge of the Muckenbach, which runs through the geological layer of the Upper Burgsandstein and is 150m long and up to 10m deep. Also worth a visit is the Wild boar enclosureThe young piglets are a particularly beautiful sight in spring. Via the roundabout and through Röthelheim Park, you return to Erlangen's city center and finally back to the starting point – the Tourist Information Office.
