Erlangen is the eastern gateway to the Aischgrund Carp Country, a little insider tip for nature lovers with its wildly romantic scenery and numerous ponds created hundreds of years ago for carp farming. This unique lake landscape is home to many picturesque Franconian towns where the mills of time still grind slowly.
From the starting point at the Tourist information You cross the underpass at the main station to Wiesengrund, which is the eastern border of the Carpland's Aischgrund From here you can reach the first ponds in the Kosbach district of Erlangen, where the Fish farming Beyond the Dechsendorfer Weiher the tour leads along the many small ponds, which, like pearls on a string, shape the landscape. The typical Franconian villages, with their country inns and beer cellars The route then turns westwards via Adelsdorf towards Höchstadt. In Rezelsdorf, the trail alternates through forests and fields toward Erlangen, where a stop at a fish restaurant in Kosbach is recommended.
