Harfenstraße takes its name from the inn located here. In 1753, the year of its construction, the two-story building was granted the tavern charter "Zur Goldenen Harfe" (Golden Harp). At the end of the 18th and in the 19th centuries, the house was a popular inn. From 1814 to 1883, beer was also brewed here. Georg Leonhardt Kropf, who had acquired the property in 1813, originally intended to produce his beer in the municipal brewery, but it was closing at that time. In May 1814, Kropf received a brewing license, and in 1818, permission to sell his beer in barrels followed. In 1838, he completed his brewery with a storage cellar on the castle hill. After several changes of ownership, the brewery was discontinued in 1883 under Fritz Tauber. A final attempt by his successor, Ernst Zimmermann, to revive the brewery failed (1895–1899), but the business still exists today.
