Altstädter Kirche

Old Town or Trinity Church (Evangelical Lutheran)

The first church building at this point (from 1288) was burned down during the Thirty Years' War, the second (from 1655) fell victim to the great city fire of 1706. The today's baroque building the novel 1709–21 built according to plans by Wenzel Perner. The facade tower was added in 1726. Inside you can see the Stucco ceiling by Johann Georg Kannhäuser, the Pulpit altar by Johann David Räntz and Johann Phillip Göbel as well as a baptismal font by Elias Räntz. There is also an organ case from around 1720 and wooden figures from around 1500.
