Gravelbike-Abenteuer im Nürnberger Land

5 hours 111.3 km GPX file

Anyone looking for a sporty tour through the Nuremberg area will find a 111-kilometer tour here that ideally combines nature, exercise, and variety. The route runs largely through green countryside on mostly unpaved paths, yet offers plenty of opportunities for a short rest or a longer stop. Wide gravel sections alternate with short trail sections and quiet paved roads – ideal for gravel bikes, but also doable with off-road touring bikes.

The route impresses not only with its cycling qualities, but also with the diverse impressions along the way:

  • Nature & animals: Game reserves, rivers and canals invite you to linger.

  • Art & Culture: Sculptures, graffiti and historic mill buildings enrich the journey.

  • Technology & Outlook: At the airport you can watch airplanes, and from the Solarberg you can enjoy panoramic views of the entire area.

  • History & Landscape: Traces from Wallenstein's time as well as varied landscapes ensure constant variety.

The route's profile is mostly moderate and technically undemanding, but requires stamina due to the total distance. Convenient: Several train stations, such as those in Feucht, Unterasbach, Eltersdorf, or Schwaig, allow the tour to be shortened individually or completed in stages. This makes it suitable both as a full-day adventure and for relaxing sections.
