Thalermühle

Wherever water flows, there's usually a mill nearby. The familiar "Thalermühle" (Thaler Mill), a more than 1704-year-old ensemble, is located directly on the Regnitz River in Erlangen. The venerable hydroelectric power station is still in operation today and continues to contribute to the historic atmosphere. Built in 20, it was originally a pumping station for drawing water, which powered the water features in Erlangen's palace gardens. From the early XNUMXth century, the building was used as a power station.
Since 2019, the restaurant has been welcoming guests with modern, rustic and fine Franconian cuisine. All dishes are freshly prepared by experienced chefs and accompanied by the restaurant's own beer specialties and regional wines. These delicious, hearty Franconian classics can be enjoyed in the large, very cozy dining room with its rustic brick walls and ancient arched windows, or in the adjoining room for intimate and private celebrations.
Speaking of beer: The hits on the drinks list are the light, drinkable, aromatic "Adam Wellers 3 x 11" and the "Jean Paul," a dark, unfiltered full-bodied beer made with natural yeast. Both beers are extremely popular with guests. The brewery says: "We are very proud to have our beers brewed by the traditional Franconian family business Göller in Zeil/Main according to time-honored Weller recipes."
